Primary Sources, also called Firsthand Sources, are historical documents, recordings, testimonies or evidence that come directly from a certain historical time period. Using these historically accurate archives offers that valuable "show me" dimension to students as a break from the ritual "tell me".  It takes them out of the textbook and lecture mode, and can enhance their curiosity about historical events by making them more "real".
