Book Retriever Support and Updates

The BR is our first attempt and we are overwhelmed and DELIGHTED with *all* of the feedback we're getting -- positive AND negative. This app was inspired by the wishes, gripes, and curiosities of all of our teaching friends. We started brainstorming and the resulting momentum turned into the Book Retriever.

Log In Trouble / "Connection Failed"

NO SPACES OR SPECIAL CHARACTERS IN THE "NAME" FIELD.

Second, we have learned that teachers are Book People but some of the technical issues of scanning and books showing up have been a real problem for some.

A recent issue we've heard about concerns getting the message: "Application Unauthorized".

What we've found is that this can pop up while the Book Retriever is using WiFi. Essentially, the network you're using doesn't recognize the application you're trying to use and wants to make sure you have permission to do so.

If you're running into this message, you need to get permission to use the BR on your network. Find the most powerful person in your building, the IT Guy/Gal, be nice to them (they're good people) and let them know you're having "Firewall Issues" with this really cool appliation you're trying to work with (using terms like "Firewall" will immediately make you look like a star). Ask politely if they could open access to a new domain: "classroomlibrarycompany.com" so that the BR on your phone can talk with our server. If they're the cautious-type that needs more information, have them give us a call (We're from Missouri. We understand.).
